THE ASCENDANT LOONG: A MECHANICAL REINCARNATION OF SPACE-TIME

STATUS: ARCHIVED / SPECIMEN-001
SUBJECT: The Convergence of Ancient Myth and Modern Tectonics
CHRONICLE: DEC 2023 – SEPT 2025

INTRODUCTION: BEYOND THE DIGITAL NOISE

In an era governed by algorithmic speed and digital transience, DALKOMM chooses to pause. We believe a timepiece should be more than a device for measuring seconds; it should be a curatorial vessel for "Civilization and Gravity."

The Ascendant Loong Tourbillon is our inaugural observation. It is not merely a watch; it is a mechanical narrative of awakening—a dialogue between humanity, the mythical, and the eternal.

I. MYTHOLOGY RECODED: FROM LEGEND TO MOTION

In Western mythology, dragons are often portrayed as powerful but destructive forces. In the deep roots of Eastern philosophy, however, the "Loong" represents a different dimension: it is the embodiment of wisdom, prosperity, and the rhythmic pulse of nature. It is the hidden force rising from the abyss.

We did not simply place a dragon on a dial. We captured a moment of ascension: the collision of ancient totems with the steel walls of modern industry.

This spirit of "rising" is materialized as a three-dimensional silver sculpture that winds upward through the movement, piercing the sapphire sky. It is no longer an ornament; it is the tectonic soul of the machine.

II. THE 10MM VAULT: A WINDOW INTO THE DEEP SPACE

To accommodate such an uncompromising, multi-dimensional motion, traditional flat glass was insufficient. We engineered the 10mm Flat-Top Box Sapphire Crystal.

This is not just a crystal; it is an Architectural Lens.

  • Dimensionality: The 10mm height creates a 360-degree panoramic vault, allowing the silver Loong to breathe in a space of unprecedented depth.

  • Optical Clarity: High-curvature machining ensures that the hand-chiseled scales and the winding body are visible from every angle without distortion.

Through this sapphire dome, you are not observing time. You are witnessing a myth in mid-ascent.

III. THE FUSION OF ARTISANAL PRECISION

The birth of the Ascendant Loong required a mastery of techniques existing on the edge of art and engineering:

  • 3D Silver Sculpture: Crafted from solid 925 Sterling Silver, the dragon is brought to life using the ancient Lost-Wax Casting technique, followed by meticulous hand-chiseling. (A deep-dive into the history of Lost-Wax Casting will follow in a future report).

  • The Mechanical Heart: At its core beats a Precision Co-Axial Tourbillon. The dragon coils around this pulsating center, symbolizing the symbiosis of organic mythology and industrial civilization.

  • Architectural Lume: Twelve hour-pillars encircle the dial like the columns of an ancient temple. Filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova®, they serve as celestial beacons, guiding the dragon through the dark.

IV. THE CHRONICLE: A TWO-YEAR VOYAGE

Greatness is never born on an assembly line; it is forged through relentless self-negation.

  • DEC 2023 | THE AWAKENING: Inspired by the I Ching—“The hidden dragon waits deep; the flying dragon rises to the heavens.” We drew the first sketches of a dial that would defy the constraints of X and Y axes.

  • APR 2024 | THE RECONSTRUCTION: The first prototype lacked the "upward force" we envisioned. We returned to the drafting board, re-sculpting the dragon’s head and adjusting the arc of the sapphire vault. The dragon had to rise, not merely exist.

  • SEPT 2025 | THE ASCENT: After over 600 days of refinement, the final specimen was confirmed. The mechanical myth was officially reincarnated.

V. MESSAGE FROM THE MAKERS

This is not just a watch. It is a dialogue—between us and time, between mythology and engineering.

When the dragon head breaks through the sapphire sky, you are not just witnessing the birth of a timepiece; you are witnessing the story of a dream rising from the deep.

DALKOMM: DIALOGUE WITH THE COSMOS.
